The Where She Became Foundation Workforce Initiative is designed for young women who need more than encouragement. They need a real opportunity, practical training, and support that meets them where they are. Through this program, participants receive guided administrative training that can translate into office support roles, customer service, operations support, entrepreneurship support, and other entry level professional opportunities.
Program length: 60 days, with internship pathway options
Who it serves: Young women who need income support, skill building, and a stable pathway forward
Training focus: Administrative assistance skills, work readiness, and practical support
Goal: Help participants build confidence, gain real skills, and move toward more stable income
Right now, this initiative is actively supporting two young women whose situations show why this work is urgent and personal.
Angela is a single mother whose own mother recently passed away. She is working to keep her home, catch up on property taxes, and maintain a safe and stable environment for her child. She also lost her job two months ago and recently experienced a domestic violence incident. Angela needs short term support, practical skill building, and a pathway back to steady income.
Deja is a single mother raising a child with special needs. She has been struggling with rent, utilities, and transportation while trying to stay afloat. Deja is committed to learning and building new skills, but like many women, she needs a program that understands real life barriers and still helps her move forward.
